COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION – NABHA

Nabha is one of the oldest states of India with history which speaks volume for its cultural heritage,religious harmoney as also for the rightful fight for the freedom of India.

Community Development Foundation is an NGO formed by like minded prominent citizens of Nabha, who, would like to create a healthy, clean environment for the residents of Nabha with active participation of all stake holders.

The NGO also provides financial assistance cum guidance to needy school cum college going students.

In addition it supports institutions working for the benefit of MR (Mentally Rerirded) childrens of Nabha Block.

Om Parkash Nohrewala-The Eminent Personality of Nabha

Mr. Om Parkash Nohrewala is a prominent businessman of Nabha who is well known for his philanthropic approach to the citizens of Nabha. 

He has been the President of the Rotary club and has been forthcoming in supporting financially as also morally for any social work which pertains to the upliftment of poor. 

His nephew Arun Rahul Garg s/o Sh. Satinder Garg and grand son of Late Sh. Baldev Krishan Nohrewala who is residing at Netherland has not only shown interest but has whole heartedly supported to the cause of upliftment of poor.

Darshan Singh Buttar-The Eminent Personality of Nabha

S. Darshan Singh Buttar were born in 1954 in village Thuhi. He had his primary education in Thuhi and passed his matriculation from Govt School Nabha. 

He did his graduation from Ripudaman college Nabha and post graduation in Punjabi from Punjab University Chandigarh. He was working in Punjab and Sind Bank. His flair from writing poem commenced when he was a child and his main tutor were his parents. 

S. Darshan Singh Buttar is active social worker and has devoted most of his time in writing poems. He has been honoured by Punjab Govt. with the title of Shromini Kavi Punjab State. He has also been awarded Bhartiya Sahitya Academy (Rashtariya Award) for his book “Maha Kambhani” which consist of poems covering different fields of life.  

He is also the president of Bhai Kahan Singh of Nabha Rachna Vichar Manch. He is also the president of Nabha Kavita Samellan.  Under his leadership Nabha has been organizing annual Kavita samellan for poets from  Punjab and India. He also has been in the forefront in organizing annual cultural Mela in Nabha where eminent personalities especially writers have been honoured.

B S Bir-The eminent Personality of Nabha

B.S Bir born on 15th Aug. 1947 is triple M.A. Economics & M.A. Punjabi (honor). He has served many departments including banking and education line.

Since 1983, he has been successfully running a publications group with two monthlies, Mehram (General Interests Monthly), Ghar Shingar (Women Oriented Monthly) & two rural fortnightlies Modern Kheti (Punjabi) & Modern Kheti (Hindi) for all the states of Northern India besides 4 regular innovated print media. He has introduced innovative annual publications in the form of calendar well versed in the region.

He is the author of 15 books in Punjabi & 10 in Hindi in the field of poetry & biography. He is known author of popular book – Ek Vilakhan Sakshiyat Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in Punjabi & Hindi.

He has received more than 15 National and multinational awards related to his composition and journalist.

Punjab Govt. through language department of Punjab has bestowed upon him Saromani Patrika Award in 2006.

He also got one award in Delhi from the late Prime Minister Sh. I.K. Gujral, one best journalist award at Malwaki (U.S.A.) & one at Toronto (Canada). He and his pen are still to go ahead.
